We are excited to share our project with you. This construction project has been a goal of the Library Board for over ten years. The new library will better serve Plummer's citizens and patrons from the surrounding area. Please come back often to check out the progress through photos.
Mark your calendars! The Plummer Library Board plans to host a silent salvage auction on Saturday June 12th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the old library at 800 D St. Pieces of the old building will be for sale to the highest bidder. Items for the auction include birch cabinets, semi-antique typewriter desk, computer stands, several interior and exterior doors, windows, bathroom fixtures, air conditioner, electric furnace, wall heaters and miscellaneous accessories. Library Friends will have a used book sale and the Lakeside Booster Club will provide barbecued hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and beverages during the auction. If you live in the area, we hope you will join us and literally take a piece of the old library home with you. Proceeds from the auction will help with furnishings still needed for the new library. This is a great opportunity to show some community spirit and support! The old building is scheduled for demoliton the week after the auction to make room for a parking lot.
Volunteers and staff will begin moving over 16,000 books, audio and videos Monday morning. We are truly grateful for the following people who are taking time out of their busy schedules to help move: Jennifer & Bradley Benson, Crystal Sperber, Kristin & Larry Largent, Bill Fox, Linda Winters, Bonita Daniel, Wally & Judy Erickson, Sam & Carol Meyle, Floyd & Marianne Davis, Carol Swick, Sandie St. John Virga, Cindy Urbat, Tammie Roller, Kate & Jeff Harrison, Cindi, Kylee & Darin Jenneskens, Lela Morris McCollum, Dave and Barbara Odgers, and Connie Trowbridge. We also appreciate the support of city public works supt. Rod Willard and help from his crew.
